This morning, Dylan was packing for his dad's house. I said, "Make sure you pack some regular shoes and not just the flip flops. You won't want to wear flip flops all day if your dad takes you to Chicago tomorrow, plus you need them for church on Sunday."

Five times I reminded him, because I never saw the shoes end up anywhere near the rest of his luggage.

As we're walking out the door, I said, "Make sure you grab your shoes! I won't be home much this weekend to get them to you if you forget."

He answered, in a snippy voice, "I did! Quit nagging me!" (Me? Nag? Surely you jest.....)

Guess who called this afternoon, eating a slice of humble pie? Yep, Dylan. I was feeling like a bit of an I-told-you-so and said, "Didn't I tell you umpteen times to bring those shoes?"

Apparently suffering from a recent head injury, which is the only explanation I could come up with for his sudden amnesia, he says, "You never told me! If you had reminded me, I would have brought them."

I told him that was fine and that he could go barefoot, then hung up the phone. (That'll learn him...or jog his memory, whichever.)

He calls back about 10 minutes later and meekly asks if he can come and get the spare key and have his dad take him to our house to pick up the shoes. I said that's fine, as long as it's not my time or gas money wasted. If his dad is silly enough to pick it up for him, then so be it. Personally, I'd have made him go barefoot, but that's just me being my typical "mean mom" self. Heh....

Something tells me it'll be nice to enjoy a strangle-free weekend without Dylan. LOL

Breaking the celibacy?

So I've started dating this new guy. Brand spanking new opportunities. And now I've gotten my mind on spanking....great.

Anywho....been on an emotional roller coaster trying to set up times to meet up with him again (he's in the Army and almost done w/ training!) and it seems no matter what I do, it gets shot to hell.

Last weekend we were supposed to get together. Things changed up and they only allowed passes if "family" were coming to visit. Then this weekend, they did the same thing again? What, like a girlfriend isn't POTENTIAL family? WTF!

Needless to say, I was not a happy girl. I hear there may be a holiday coming up for him in the very near future, so I'm hoping that works out instead. If not, I may have to resort to drastic measures. I have no idea what measures those are yet, but I'm sure they're drastic....trust me. LOL!
